Honouring Madiba at Yenzani Children’s Home – Mandela Day 2025

At Yenzani Children’s Home, we proudly celebrate Mandela Day by honouring the legacy of Nelson Mandela – a man who deeply loved and protected children, serving as a father figure to many. In 2009, the United Nations declared 18 July as Nelson Mandela International Day, calling on people worldwide to spend 67 minutes making a difference in their communities, just as Madiba dedicated 67 years of his life to public service.
Due to limited space at our home, as well as the need to protect the privacy of the children in our care, we’ve adapted the way we observe the day. While we’re unable to host DIY activities or team-building events on-site, you are very welcome to stop by for a visit, drop off donations, and share a chat and a cuppa with us.
